On exploring inner space.

This is a continuation of posted and upcoming recommendations for meditation, visualizations which I have found helpful over the years. I hope they will prove beneficial in navigating and expanding our inner dimensions.

Feelings:

The importance of feeling the energies moving around the body cannot be understated. To that end we can use our imagination to focus consciousness, as we perform the meditation, visualizations. What can we generate from our “minds” to help us see the movement in and beyond our bodies? Imagination also makes it possible for us to bring up specific feelings within our conscious awareness. It can become a way to ground one into body awareness, and out of the mind thought process. We do need the mind to help direct the practice. But these meditations are not of the mind. What starts to happen is that we are able to shift out of this “normal” third dimensional density which we inhabit. Imagination creates the pathway beyond our normal world, in order to receive insight and information accessed through more of an alpha brainwave state, and aspects of our higher consciousness.

What type of feelings are helpful and beneficial to these meditations? First off, feelings are a unique personal experience. We may talk about experiencing joy, gratitude, compassion, and love, but they cannot be defined by any external method. The outside world can allude to them, but can never define feelings for us on an individual, internal basis.

Most of the time we experience feelings based on external interactions with the world and experiences. I will become happy if… I will become sad if… But what I have come to understand in the process of these meditations, in the process of expanding consciousness, is that we can begin to generate these feelings internally, without needing an external stimuli.

What is important about that? Think about what happens when you see a young child exploring the world in joyful play. What does that do to your heart? That can be called one expression of experiencing love. What if we could generate that type of feeling on our own, at any time? What would life look like? I would contend that it would produce a powerful internal transformation. Maybe for just a few moments, or maybe for an entire life. We become free to become more fully who we are. We become less reaction and more self-activating.

But again that is, in the final analysis, an internal experience. So why can’t we self-generate, from our own being, these feelings, these powerful feelings? We can. And doing that as part of these meditations, bring them to a whole new level of expansion.

Do the earth breathing meditation with a self-generated feeling of gratitude to the earth for supplying us with all the gifts that allow us to exist on this planet, in this body, with this body. And then, when we exhale down into the earth, we can express our love, from our hearts, back into the earth. It truly activates and opens the heart center, and a multitude of connections within and beyond our bodies. Imagine. Imagine.

A consciousness expression I learned and use continually is: in infinite Love and Gratitude. Express it with as much feeling, joy and inclusiveness as possible.

These are profound concepts. But I do not feel it is necessary to intellectually define what is happening. In part because feelings of love and joy and gratitude are beyond definitions. They are part of our internal experiential existence. And that is fundamentally who and what we are. They are part of our birthright. And the external world becomes a place where we may bring those internal dimensions into expression.
