This mediation is a recognition of who and what we are – a spirit being. It is a centering experience, one of a calming integration with our true nature. It is a recognition of our connection to earth. It is a recognition of our connection to spirit. It is our expression of the fundamental aspects of our being, manifesting out into the world that we experience.
One begins by centering in the heart, “dropping down” with our awareness into the heart area. When that is experienced, feel yourself expanding down into the earth, into Gaia, stretching your awareness as far as you can. Pouring yourself as water, down and down, touching the core of earth.
Next feel yourself expanding from your heart, upwards, out through the top of your head, and up into the infinite. Be the focused light energy of your being.
With a little practice, these can be done simultaneously. With the in-breath, feel your awareness going down into the earth and simultaneously up into spirit / either realm.
Then, at the extent of the in-breath, go back once again to the heart, and begin to exhale. As you do, visualize your awareness going horizontally out from your heart. Radiate out, like a disc with a central vertical shaft through it. This expresses your fundamental “creation nature” out into the world in which you exist. Out into the manifestation of the “creation world” we experience, our home in this incarnation. This is our hearts expansion / expression, and the love that we are, embracing and honoring that which “IS”.
Repeat – back to the heart.
This process may also be used in conjunction with the “I Am” affirmation. From the heart, as you experience the visualization of the earth / spirit connection, see that as an expression of the “I”. This can be seen as a vertical shaft representation. Then, after returning to the heart, exhale out as the expression of the “AM”. The “AM” being like a sinewave radiating out into this dimensional expression of the Now.
Doing this activates the visualization with the fundamental expression of our being. I AM is our expression / connection to source energy, and how that energy is made manifest into the world around us, and our unique contribution to ongoing creation.
In a Christian context, this entire visualization can be seen as a cross. One can interpret it in many ways, especially that of the resurrection and transformation beyond our physical expression.
